SCHOOL CULTURE & FORMATION PHILOSOPHY

Our approach to formation follows the Preventive System of St. John Bosco, founded on reason, religion, and loving-kindness. We aim to form young people through consistent mentorship, clear expectations, and loving discipline that appeals to both mind and heart. The school’s goal is to cultivate virtue through relationship, guidance, and joyful pursuit of truth and goodness.

We view parents as the primary educators of their children and essential partners in our mission. The success of the school depends on active parental engagement — particularly in supporting the school’s Catholic identity, moral expectations, and disciplinary philosophy. Parents are expected to communicate regularly with faculty and administration and to work cooperatively in addressing both academic and behavioral matters.

Chesterton Academy of the Florida Martyrs is not a reform or therapeutic school. We are unable to accommodate students with major or ongoing behavioral or emotional challenges that require intensive intervention or supervision. Our environment is best suited for students who are open to formation, willing to grow in character, and able to respond to correction within a structured and faith-filled community.

Family Commitment

Chesterton Academy of The Florida Martyrs is not simply a place where students attend classes. It is a community ordered toward the formation of each student in three foundational pillars: intellectual, spiritual, and moral. That kind of formation cannot happen without the active partnership of parents.

We expect families to see themselves not as consumers of an educational service, but as collaborators in a shared mission. Parents are the primary educators of their children. Our work depends upon your involvement, encouragement, and example at home.

We ask families to:

  • Support the school’s mission and culture, both publicly and privately

  • Uphold behavioral and academic expectations with consistency

  • Participate in parent meetings and formation opportunities

  • Contribute time and talent in a spirit of volunteerism

  • Assist with events, hospitality, and institutional initiatives that advance the school

  • Promote unity within the parent community

A small school thrives when families take ownership of its health and future. We rely on parents not only to entrust their children to us, but to help strengthen the institution itself.

When parents and teachers work in genuine partnership with clarity, goodwill, and shared purpose, students flourish.

Tuition & Fees

Our Approach

Chesterton Academy is committed to offering an outstanding high school education at an affordable cost to families.  We keep tuition as low as possible to bring a classical, Catholic education to any family, regardless of income.

To make the school more affordable for families, we have set tuition far lower than our full actual cost.

How do we make up that difference? The rest is supplied by generous donors who believe in the mission of the school and want to keep tuition affordable for families.

We expect all of our students who are Florida residents to receive scholarship money through the State of Florida, distributed through the Step Up for Students program. SUFS scholarship award amounts have not yet been released for 2026-2027. Award amount for 2025-2026 was roughly $7500.
