Icon of Christ the Teacher

Become a witness to the love of Jesus in the classroom.

Chesterton Academy of The Florida Martyrs is looking for experienced educators with a passion for passing along the Catholic faith in every classroom setting and subject. We believe that the primary purpose of the education that we offer is evangelization, and we seek individuals who are ready to share the love of Christ with High School students and play a pivotal role in their formation as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. Our teachers are passionate about their Catholic faith, live it out daily, and understand the beauty and transformational potential that a classical education deeply rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition can have in a student's life.

First and foremost every Catholic educational institution is a place to encounter the living God who in Jesus Christ reveals his transforming love and truth (cf. Spe Salvi, 4).

To apply...

Please read these instructions carefully.

The application process is three steps:

1) Prepare your resume. Your resume should highlight your most recent five years of employment, as well as any teaching or ministry experience that you have. Please include your education background. A bachelor's degree or equivalent specialized experience is required for all teaching positions.

2) Prepare your statement of purpose. The ideal candidate will love classical education, but love Jesus Christ more, and have a deep desire to transmit the Catholic faith to teenagers. Please reflect on the following quote from the Church document titled Gravissimum Educationis and write a short, one page description of why you are seeking this role in our school, and how your desire relates to this mission: "Endowed with an apostolic spirit, may teachers by their life as much as by their instruction bear witness to Christ, the unique Teacher."

3) Familiarize yourself with our curriculum. Please visit our curriculum page and ensure you understand the types of courses we require of our students.

4) After you have completed these steps, please send your resume and a statement of purpose to headmaster@chestertonpensacola.org. A formal application will be required upon invitation.

We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, disability, national origin, veteran status, or any other basis covered by appropriate law as it applies to religious institutions.
