For Heather Renshaw, Catholic education is far more than a profession; it is a joyful vocation. As Dean of Students and teacher of Theology, Drama, Music, Debate, and Yearkbook at Chesterton Academy, she delights in helping students discover that Truth, Goodness, and Beauty are not simply ideas to be studied, but a Person to be loved.

After returning to the Faith of her childhood, Heather left a successful human resources career upon discerning God's call to evangelize. She is the award-winning author of Death by Minivan (Our Sunday Visitor), a former award-winning family life columnist, and a contributor to Catholic books, devotional resources, and Scripture studies. Heather has spoken at conferences, led retreats, and encouraged families throughout the country to embrace the joy of the Gospel.

An accomplished liturgical musician, Heather served as a cantor throughout the Archdiocese of Portland, Oregon, for 30+ years and sang with the Oregon Symphony's Gospel Christmas Choir for a decade. Since moving to Pensacola with her husband, David, and their five amazing children, Heather has found a home in classical Catholic education, where every subject and every conversation converge in the formation of young hearts and minds.

She completed the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee's Lay Formation Institute certification in 2025, Mental Health First Aid training this year, and is currently pursuing certification in Classical Education Philosophy.

Whether accompanying a student through life's joys and challenges, directing a play, singing at Mass, or exploring the riches of the Faith in the classroom, Heather is convinced that the saints are the freest people in the world, that holy mirth belongs wherever Christ is found, and that every school day is another opportunity to become a little more like Him. She hopes her students leave her classroom not only understanding the Faith more deeply but also loving God more completely and discovering that the surest path to greatness is docility to the Holy Spirit.

Emergency Reporting: If you witness an immediate threat to a student’s health or safety, call 9-1-1.
