Ms. Triana Garrett

Teacher

Literature, Writing & Philosophy

Born in California and originally baptized Episcopalian, Ms. Garrett converted to Catholicism as an upperclassman in high school after her enrollment in a classical Catholic high school (similar to Chesterton Academy). Realizing she needed a stronger spiritual foundation, and knowing it would be essential to 'live in the world, without being of it,' she pursued a Catholic higher education.

In 2018, she graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Ms. Garrett then wandered through various industries and professional roles before she discovered the opportunity to serve as a formator (educator). This calling first manifested during the Covid era, when she created and led multiple online communities for Christian individuals living in extreme isolation. It then evolved into ministry leadership roles over the next few years, ultimately culminating in the call to serve as a formator (teacher) for Chesterton Academy.

With a passion for the classical arts and soul-deep education, Ms. Garrett is thrilled to bring her unique professional background and zeal for Catholicism to this school. Her dual-classical education (high school and college) equips her with a profound insight into how best to serve and learn with the students.

If she’s not in the classroom or with her fiance (a zealous Catholic “revert”), you'd likely find Ms. Garrett somewhere under the sun, as far away from technology as she can get. "The aesthetic value of creation cannot be overlooked. Our very contact with nature has a deep restorative power; contemplation of its magnificence imparts peace and serenity." -St. JPII
